carbohydrates. Lowers blood
pressure. Helps to regulate water
balance in the body. Prevents heart
attack. Protects against stroke. Important for healthy nervous system. Helps in proper muscle contraction.
These minerals are
necessary for proper development, growth and function of our body’s tissues.
In food, cassava has numerous uses which include native pastries like bibingka, suman, sago and many more. Cassava flour can substitute for wheat flour in baked products, and it is utilized as thickener for soups, baby food, sauces and gravies.
Planting cassava is easy; the crop grows well on poor soils. Stalk cuttings are planted in slanting position when the soil is dry and in vertical position in wet soil.
Let’s
grow cassava in our backyard so we can cook and eat what’s fresh for the day
while watching
our favourite movies.
